Planning is applied geography.  The profession of Planning is both art and science.  "Land Awareness" describes a suggested approach to the problems we confront in urban and rural land planning realms.  Please join me on my blog  and help create a new way of using, preerving and valuing the land - yours, mine, and ours.

What Is Land Awareness?

Simply, adherence to a conservation ethic.  Conserving land by using less of it.  Supporting economic growth and land development where the human impact can be adequately managed and mitigated to preserve vital ecological and sociological functions.  Ensuring the vitality of our land supply to protect species and water, soil and food supply, and public access to the wonders and enjoyment of nature.

 Land Awareness among citizens, our elected representatives, and all users and consumers of the land leads to a collaborative approach toward development and preservation, based on natural law, state-of-the-art scientific knowledge, and the long-term public good.

 Land Awareness is fundamental to maintaining the 'Triple Bottom Line' approach to community development that integrates environmental stewardship, sustainable economic development and social justice.
